Ready for your
Knight Job?
March 10th, 11:00AM.
Come one, come all! Bring your
DD-214's, your CQB Certificates, CJSTC Diplomas, you get the
idea.
This meeting is also open to
spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, etc. This meeting is a look
into the world of the Shield Teams for those who think they
might have what it takes to be part of The Defender Foundation
rescue teams. The meeting is open so your significant others in
your life can ask the hard questions that they need to know,
such as dangers, training requirements, time requirements, etc.
The Shield Teams are not for
everyone but for those brave few, if you have both the heart of
a warrior and a true servant to those that cannot protect
themselves, we have a home for you. Not looking for thrill
seekers. From providing security for Rescue Operations both
Stateside and Overseas, to painting and improving shelters, this
is a volunteer opportunity like few others.

Please join us for our next monthly
meeting.
Our Founder will just have gotten back
from the Shield Teams mission in the
Dominican Republic.

Come meet with The Defender Foundation, an
Anti-Human Traffickling NGO at the forefront of the
fight. Hear about the many ways you can get plugged
in to help spread awareness, rescue and restore the
victims of this tragedy sweeping the world. The
Defender Foundation is more than a thought exercise,
good intentions or social club to fight Human
trafficking. From every volunteer we have that helps
the local shelters, our letter writing campaign
committee, hotel staff power point teams, materials
translations, education and prevention teams, to the
Shield Teams, we are about Doing more than donating
The Dominican Republic Mission:
Updates so far
include one rescue mission conducted already. As you
read this, teams are gearing up for another rescue
mission tonight. The target-To rescue victims from
ages 11-16. These victims will then be conducted to
a secure shelter by female Team members. Several
Teams from different organizations to include
Breaking Chains have come together to rescue these
girls.
Our Teams on the streets in the Dominican Republic
have observed older European men walking hand in
hand with 14 year old girls. These are not their
grandfathers and they are not down there to just see
the sights. There are children being controlled by
"boyfriends" from prison, trafficking themselves on
the streets. This is the case of one victim we
retrieved. She is 14 and her 28 year old "boyfriend"
is in jail for murder. He controls her from there
and uses the money to live very well in prison.
these little girls are also controlled with drugs to
include crack cocaine and our teams had to endure
watching this girl go through withdrawals' and take
her to a local clinic with her mother for help.
At our meeting you will hear a full recount of the
trip, tonight's rescue mission and the others that
will happen before the teams leave. If we can find a
bar or brothel that is controlling minors or lets
them operate out of the facility, we will be
contacting the local ICE representative on the
island to coordinate with local authorities. Most of
clubs/brothels don't let them inside however and
they are on the streets outside.
Our Teams will continue and expand our U.S.
operations but we hope you can understand why they
conduct overseas missions as well.
 This
is a view from our first rescue operation in broad
daylight.
We ask for your thoughts and prayers as our
Teams head out into a truly dangerous area. We
have been told the bad elements have AK-47's and
other weapons and they were advised not to go.
However, there will truly be no light in this
darkness unless there are those actually willing
to go into the darkness. Human Trafficking is
run primarily by bad bad people. Because things
are difficult and even dangerous, to a large
part, this industry has been able to thrive. The
system is overwhelmed and we refuse to let there
be safe havens for exploiters and child rape.
Please, stand behind our Shield Teams and their
partners as we take the children from the jaws
of the enemy.

Looking for office with secure storage space.
We are still looking for a facility that will let
us operate our office and admin duties but will also
double as a volunteer support site. The Shield Teams
also have need of being able to store, inventory and
control sensitive equipment. If you have a
office-warehouse you just have not been able to sell
or rent in this economy, consider our mission and
the tax write off to help save Human Trafficking
victims.

Dominican
Republic 2011
Dear Community Leaders & Abolitionists,
On June 29, 2011, a bill called
the Trafficking
Victims Protection
Reauthorization Act (TVPRA) was
introduced in the U.S. Senate
by Senators Leahy (VT), Brown
(MA), Kerry (MA), Boxer (CA),
Cardin (MD), and Wyden (OR).
This bi-partisan legislation is
critical - it will renew the
Trafficking Victims Protection
Act of 2000, which established
the State Department Office to
Monitor and Combat Trafficking
in Persons, authorized the
annual Trafficking in Persons
report, and established human
trafficking as a punishable
crime here in the U.S.
Abolitionists around the country
are calling on Congress to pass
the TVPRA quickly.
What can you do to help: Please
contact you U.S Senators and let
them know how important it is to
renew the TVPRA. Here is an
example of what you can tell
your senator:
Dear Senator:
I write to express support for
the Trafficking Victims
Protection Reauthorization Act
(S.1301).
As you may know, there are an
estimated 27 million slaves in
the world today. The TVPRA would
sustain and improve life-saving
U.S. programs that combat
slavery around the world and
within our borders.
In particular, this legislation
would give additional resources
and diplomatic authority to the
State Department's Office to
Monitor and Combat Trafficking
in Persons (TIP)--our
government's most important
asset for combating modern-day
slavery internationally. TIP's
skilled diplomats monitor
slavery and press governments
around the world to confront it.
By providing grant funding to
organizations , the TIP Office
has enabled the rescue and
rehabilitation of thousands of
survivors of human trafficking,
and the prosecution and
conviction of hundreds of
trafficking perpetrators.
I urge you to co-sponsor the
Trafficking Victims Protection
Reauthorization Act and to
protect the TIP Office's small
budget from further cuts. Please
help maintain U.S. leadership in
the fight against modern-day
slavery by defending the
programs that serve the most
vulnerable among us.
